May 11, 2009 - June 25, 2009
The Jazz Heritage Center's Lush Life Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of it’s latest art exhibit experience, Jazz Ambassadors Up Close!
This exhibit is in support of the nationally touring exhibit "JAM SESSION: AMERICA's JAZZ AMBASSADORS EMBRACE THE WORLD" currently on view in the JHC’s Koret Heritage Lobby, next door to the Lush Life Gallery. Participating artists, including Lavirille Aber, Valeriy Kagounkin, Donna Wayman, Suzanne Cerny, Leroy Parker, Jeremy Sutton and Lynn Goodman offer a variety of styles depicting up close and intimate portraits, and figurative renderings of the selected images of jazz royalty, including Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Quincy Jones, and others.
Also, in honor of Miles Davis's Birthday Month of May and the 50th Anniversary of Davis's “Kind Of Blue," the best selling jazz album of all time, the Lush Life Gallery will also present simultaneously, a mini exhibit of Miles Davis imagery, including a bronze sculpture by master artist Ed Dwight.
The show is scheduled to preview May 14th, with an artist reception on May 21st.
